IMG_8718I am an essayist and freelance editor living on the boundary of Denali National Park, Alaska.

I earned my MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2014, where I received the Jason Wenger Memorial Writing Award, and my BA in creative writing, Spanish, and women’s studies from the University of Arizona in 2007. I was named a 2016 Fishtrap Fellow  at Summer Fishtrap in Wallowa County, Oregon.

My writing has appeared in various journals and websites, and focuses on landscape and language, the intersection of the natural and human-made worlds, relationships, and technology, and is hopefully a bit funnier than that description makes it sound.

I’m currently at work on my first book manuscript, with a self-imposed deadline based on what an astrologer at the Totem Bar in Healy, Alaska, advised. Work with what you’ve got, folks.

I’ve edited creative manuscripts, technical documents, and educational materials, and taught creative nonfiction workshops for adults. I’m currently available for select editing contracts; contact me and see if our interests align.

I also knit, ski, hike, and make crafts from found objects to sell to friends and tourists.
